Hey everyone,
Here are the minutes from our meeting last night! Kiwanis.. important reminder: SEE NEW BUSINESS-- "G"! thanks! have a wonderful evening! -Katie

I. Call to Order: 7:05pm

II. Welcome / Introductions:

Art Weaver: Santa Rosa Kiwanis
Gene Michel: Suburban Kiwanis Club
Rick from the Cal Maritime Academy

III. Reports:

1. Inter Club Council: Paper work is in! We are now official for the Spring Semester!
2. APRIL 27th: Keep this date open! Softball game vs. the other clubs on campus! More news as that date approaches.

IV. Old Business:

1. Thank you to Rachael Smith for providing her casa and entertainment for the social we had over the weekend. It was lots of fun, and we are alreayd in the process of planning another one!
2. New Business:
3. Blood Drive: Tuesday 2/5 and Wed 2/6: In the Doyle Student Lounge. If you want to show your macho-ness get out there and donate some blood!
4. DCM: (council Meeting.. get info on what is happening in CKI on a larger scale) Sunday 2/17 @ cal Maritime Academy. E-Mail us if you are interested in going!
5. LSSP: Large Scale Service Project (2/23) 9:30-3:30 More info at the next meeting.
6. KIWANIS FUNDRAISER!!! March 13th & 14th: We will be helping out the Suburban Kiwanis Feed scrubbing potatoes, serving meals, and more! Its their annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Feed. More info to come. Its being held right by the SRJC, so no excuses why you can't go spend a few minutes there! Go in between classes to help out, or just go to grub down on the GREAT GREAT food the Kiwanis cook!

   e.Interface Shelter: We will be helping out the Redwood Kiwanis Club by showing them our carpentry skills and helping update a shelter. The date is March 16th.

7. CAB: (Campus Activities Board) We will be volunteering to help out at the Casino Night held on campus. Thurs. March 21st. We will be taught how to deal (haha that sounds funny... and the $$ is going to chairity)
8. **District Convention! I keep stressing to KEEP MARCH 22-24th OPEN OPEN OPEN (yah, like the Mervyn's commercial) haha.. but if you want a guaranteed FUN FILLED weekend, then PERMANENT PEN CKI DISTRICT CONVENTION IN! Alrighty! The cost looks like it will be around $65.00 for CKI members.

   ****KIWANIS MEMBERS**** If you are interested in coming to our Circle K Convention, please let me know as soon as possible, and I can send you the information!

VI. Discussion:

1. Club T-Shirt: OK OK OK! Here's the deal with this! Every week, we always say, BRING T-SHIRT IDEAS.. and NO ONE DOES!!! WHATS WRONG PEOPLE?!?!?!? So... a few of us came up with an idea, and if you dont want to get stuck with it, or dont like it, you best bring some sort of drawing on MONDAY! WE ARE VOTING ON MONDAY!!! SO BE THERE! We weren't getting anywhere, so that was the only choice!
2. we will be hanging posters around campus.. so LOOK OUT!
3. 2nd annual Bear Cub Bash Banquet is beginning to be planned. Any sugestions or comments should be sent to rachael and gardner at: gypsy_bubble@hotmail.com Tell them what you want! Voice your opinion, and it will be a blast!
4. Scholarships! I sent out an e-mail about the scholarships. If you never recieved it, please let me know! Also, Renee handed them out 3 weeks ago.
5. We will be helping out SSU at their club day on 2/23... let me know if you can go!

VII. Announcements:

1. Students can help spread the word about "Measure A", a measure that is being voted on soon. If you want to work at a phone bank, from 5:30-8:30 on various nights to help spread the word about the Measure, let renee know at violet1478@yahoo.com. For more info on that measure, you can click here:
