And the following members from the Suburban Kiwanis Club: Gene, Jerry,

Grant and Tom. We thank you all for coming to our meeting, and look forward

to doing a project with you soon!

III. Reports:

  1. Inter Club Council: We have approval to attend the convention and we

are now covered under the SRJC's insurance! Also, our advisor, Sandra Feldman

will be attending the convention with us as well.

IV. Old Business:

  1. Attended the Santa Rosa Kiwanis Meeting this past Thursday. It was

very interesting, and we had a great lunch as usual!

B. No one was able to attend the DCM and the Large Scale Service Project.

Once we get the minutes, or any word on how that went from our district, I

will be sure to send them on out.

V. New Business:

  1. SUBURBAN KIWANIS "Reading is Fundamental": At Steele Lane Elementary

school at 1:45pm. Its right around the corner from the SRJC, and across from

Longs Drug Store. Its in the Cafeteria. If interested, there is parking in

the back, and just go to the office and sign in, then meet us in the

cafeteria. Its so much fun to see all of the children's faces when they

receive a book! Try to make it if you can. It doesn't last longer than a

hour.

B. Student for Measure "A" still needs people every Monday -Thursday from

5:30-8:30pm to man the phone bank. Its at 111 Santa Rosa Ave. Call or write

for GOOD directions! And for those Kiwanis, educate other members about

Measure A and VOTE YES!

C.Suburban Kiwanis Corned Beef and Cabbage Feed: We are selling the

tickets for $12.00! E-mail us if you want to buy some! I ALREADY SOLD 3!

HAHA! I AM ON A ROLL :) We will be doing our 2nd annual "SCRUB THE POTATOES

SPOTLESS AFTERNOON" and pick out the bad spots... on Wed. March 13th in the

afternoon, and then you can help serve during Thursday day. Keep the Wed.

open! Its a lot of fun! You'd be amazed at how much fun scrubbing so many

garbage cans full of potatoes can be! Lets show up to thank the Suburban

Kiwains Club for all of their support through out the years!

Z. HAHA... I missed one, so I made up that! OK. INTERFACE SHELTER with

the Redwood Empire Kiwanis Club. March 16th. Its also Total K-Day, so it

would be great if we could all help out our Kiwanis or Key Clubs.

D. C.A.B: (Campus Activities Board) Casino Night (Thursday, March 21st)

here on campus. Starts around 7pm. $2 for non AS members, and $1 for AS

members. You will get fake $$ when you enter! It should be lots of fun. If

you don't want to volunteer, why not go and have fun!

E. District Convention: Coming up! 25 days! SCORE! YAH YAH! I CANT WAIT!

Our club did soooo well this year, and hopefully we will get some

recognition! I am soooo proud of you all! You are all winners in my hearts!

Awwwwww tear! :)

F. Softball Tournament: April 27th. Keep this day open! It will be so

much fun, and we might even do good! WHO KNOWS!

G. Day under the Oaks: Sunday, May 5th! All day we will be selling cotton

candy as a fundraiser to go to Orlando Florida for the International

Convention! So EVERYONE stop on by! INCLUDING ALL OF YOU KIWANIS MEMBERS! WE

WANT TO SEE YOU THERE :-P

H. International Convention: Aug. 10th-Aug 14th. Start saving up, if you

are interested in going!

VI. Discussion:

  1. Membership Recognition Program! WOW! The CKI year has finally come to

an end! I have worked so very hard on these MRP awards for you all! If you

weren't at the meeting, please try to come next time so we can get your

signature, and so you can see what kind of award you received! Everyone did

AWESOME! We had so many service hours, and helped out in so many ways! I will

send another e-mail later, once midterms are done :-p

VII. Announcements:

  1. Student health service needs volunteers to help present information

about Tay-Sachs disease screening program in classrooms and to perform other

outreach activities. If you want to do this call Oriana @ 527-4445 or e-mail

her at obiela@yahoo.com

B. We will be holding elections in these coming months. Since many of

us wont be here next year including myself, we need to start now to build a

strong club for next year! We are totally willing to teach and train you how

to take over a position. I have had experiences with all of these positions,

and they have taught me so much! Well worth it! As long as you manage your

time well, then you are good to go! So please think about it! Any questions,

let us know!

VIII. Adjournment: 7:27

YAH YAH! THAT IS ALL DONE! Try to show up to the next meeting! Next Monday @

7pm! REMEMBER TO VOTE ON MARCH 5th! MARCH 5th! I wish you all a wonderful

Hasta!
