Equipment Testing

I reviewed testing comments from 16 people (classmate testers, plus two typical users and two client employees), and also tested the site myself on three different computers (Mac OSX Laptop, PC Laptop & Desktop) using multiple browsers. I was primarily looking for errors of any kind (images not loading or incorrectly positioned, scripts not working, etc.). We did notice from tester data that the site does not load correctly on AOL 9.1 due to lack of JavaScript support, but designing a new version of the site for one specific, outdated browser was not an option with the time we had left. One issue we did notice was that the caption on the first slide of the Science slideshow was cut off on one Windows Firefox computer (possibly due to small screen size?), so the margin was adjusted until it displayed as intended. It occurred to me that the dropdowns might not work on mobile devices (as they require a cursor to hover over them to open), but both of the mobile devices we were able to test the site on displayed them correctly.

  Results
Operating System Both Mac OSX and Windows (XP, Vista and Seven) display correctly with no OS-specific errors.
Monitor Size 17", 19", 21" and 23" monitors all display content correctly.
Monitor Colors Millions of colors displays correctly, Thousands displays slightly off, but still presentable.
Browser Internet Explorer 8, Safari, Opera all display correctly. Firefox displays correctly except for cut-off text on one page for some machines (fixed). AOL 9.1 does not display correctly due to lack to JavaScript support. Dropdowns may not work on some mobile devices (iPhone and Blackberry work correctly) if their browser does not have a hover function.
Internet Connection Site loads relatively quickly on all connections, predictably slow loading on dialup but no unreasonable loading times other then the video.
