On October 3, 2009 3500 cyclists set out to tour the countryside of Sonoma County. The ride was organized by none other than Santa Rosa's own Levi Leipheimer. The aim of the ride, modeled after the ones they have in Europe, was to raise money for a couple of good causes. The first cause is the Tour de California. Part of the proceeds will go to keeping the Tour alive. The other cause, which is near and dear to Levi and his wife Odessa Gunn is the Forget-me-not Farm, run by the Humane Society of Sonoma County.
