Questions

Do you feel the site attracts a diverse group for membership and volunteering?

I see diversity in the children's faces and in the Board of Directors but overall the website does not get this message across. We are made up up female and male spouses of physicians, widows, single divorced women, and young physicians...I do not think this is visible.

Yes

Yes

Yes. But not jus everyone can join

The written sections talk about diversity – but perhaps this point can be further supported through a group picture of our members – one which shows different ages of our members, as well as different ethnicities.

Do you feel there is easy access to make donations and to volunteer on the site?

I think the donation access is clearer than the volunteer access. You can easily see how to join but if by volunteer we mean become actively involved in the organization, that could be much stronger.

Yes

Yes

Yes

I like the push buttons to the right (note – column needs to be top justified). However, the page it links to doesn’t give enough visual “clues” about taking action to either join or donate. If we wish to continue with a shared page – perhaps what’s needed is a box, different font or larger letters highlighting and differentiating the “donate” vs “join” messages on the page. Please reference the United Way website – which I think does a good job of getting folks engaged (i.e., 99 ways to help, 10 ways to find time, share stories).

Is it clear to you what the organization does?

No, I think our name is too small in the right hand corner and should extend across the top of the site more. I would put SCMAA under our name and not first but that is just a personal preference. Where you have Welcome I would again put our name..Sonoma County Medical Association Alliance welcomes you. When I go on the site, the first thing I see is the background hills and the faces. I would eliminate the children's faces here and try to bring in our diversity which I described above. I think the home page repeats itself over and over in the text.

Yes

Yes

Yes,what it talks about what we do but not who we are, doesn't talk about the CMMA & AMMA

? Yes. I like the concise, targeted statement about the mission, etc.

Is it clear upon visiting the site that the organization has current and upcoming events?

Yes I see the events but I am confused why they appear under News Links and also on the side.

Yes

Yes

Somewhat

Yes. I love the calendar!

What is the overall tone and feel of the site. What is the site about?

The overall tone of the site is this is about people but does not indicate people helping people which would make our mission more clear.

Tone of the site is comfort and professionalism, I think it is very welcoming. The site is about who SCMAAF is and what we do for the community

The overall tone looks professional. The site is about the Sonoma County Medical Association Alliance. It is impressive to me to see the number of activities and and events that are conducted by this organization. I think it gives the right amount of information if someone were trying to learn what this organization is about.

Great but we need more pictures of Active members. Great Website A+ DO NOT like "can" photos.

It has a very practical feel to it. I like the ease of navigation, the simplicity. The content is beautifully written – but the pages appear very grey on the screen. I’m not sure that the reader will get through it all. Perhaps the written passages could be condensed.

What was your first impression of the opening screen?

Site is professional, well organized, and shows an incredible amount of quality time invested. Thank you so much.

I think the heading for SCMAAF's name and initials is too small, I like the photo of Sonoma Hills

I liked the look. I felt that there was a good balance between pictures and the printed word. The type is a good size and the copy is clear.

Wow

My eye goes to the rolling hills of Sonoma County and then to the pictures on the left, and then to “welcome”. Everything else looks grey, including the SCMAA logo, tagline on the upper right. The blue/brown color scheme.

Where did you first click?

The first link in the text.

About Us

Did you find the site easy to navigate?

I think the link color is too faint and would like to see it bolder. Overall the colors of the links and menus are on the dull side.

Yes

Yes I did

Yes, I like the drop downs

Yes – very nice!

Were the pages interesting? Why or why not?

I would love an outsider to answer this because I feel too close to the organization to judge this.

Yes, the pages are fine, but I prefer the ones with pictures that reflect us best, the ones showing our members working in the community

Please add that the deadline for Scholarship applications is Monday, February 4, 2008.

Yes, maybe too much info. I like photos of active members. People like to see a picture of themselves, to be acknowledged. There needs to be a page appreciation somewhere.

They could be spiced up a little. Pages appear too “grey” – too much text.

What did you like best about the site?

All the information is there and will serve as such a vital tool for the Alliance/Foundation.

I like the picture of the hills on the heading best

The clean look of the page

How different it is from the old one.

What suggestions for improvement do you have?

Please note what has already been said.

I would make the heading with our name larger, there were also a few grammatical mistakes

Note #1 - 4 1. When you highlight the link you want to connect to, could you have a more distinctive color appear? It would stand out better I think. This applies to all the pages with links. 2. 3. Under Forms : I would like to see you add Scholarship Application with a direct link to the Community Foundation. 4. Membership Application A. By Mail : At this point it will not allow a person to type in the information. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to fill out the application and then print it out. That eliminates a lot of grief when it comes to interpreting hand writing. B. On Line: 1. I would like to see the same information on the online application as the by mail application. Include the line Spouse’s name/Specialty and Alliance Involvement information. 2. On the page Support the Alliance, the line Become a Member, you have a link to the application to be mailed but not to the online application. I think you need to add that to this page too. I found this form once and am having trouble finding it again. Applications need to be more easily accessed.

Photos of active members

1. Right column on template should be top justified 2. Use active verbs as much as possible (examples on Improve Community page)

Were there any links that did not work, images that did not load, typos?

When clicking on the large JOIN link on the right hand side, To Make a Donation comes up first and Become a Member is below. I think this should be consistent with the Home Page and put Become a Member on top.

Join button seems to go to the donation page, can it be sent to the lower portion of the page where the membership info is? On that same page - it says, "Make a donations" (remove the s). On the Donation by Paypal page, Spaces are needed after "county." Become a member online page, Auto total box does not work correctly when adding different amounts. A link to buy tickets online and the artist application should be added on the Hidden Talents page - (both do exist elsewhere) On the Forms link - there should be a link to the Hidden Talents Artist Application form On Health careers Scholarship page, under FAQ - there are 3 areas in parentheses that need to be removed (different color), etc. Newsletter link - couldn't get this to work at all.

1.Under Forms: Support the Alliance – Make a donations . Delete the s at the end of donation. 2. See #4 membership application A and B. 3. Originally saw a form for on line membership application but now can’t find it. When I did find it, the addition of the dues and extras did not work to well. I put in the 65 dues, checked the two other boxes and got the correct total. Then I deleted the two extra boxes and the total did not change. Maybe you have deleted this, am not sure.

That was fine

No

Did you find the calendar, was it easy to read?

Yes, this is very exciting and will be a wonderful resource.

Yes, I found the calendar and it worked well

Yes

Yes, and I am not sure since there were no events

Yes – I like it very much.
