Technical
- Minor optimizations to an O(n^3) program for Pythagorean triples 2008
- A few mathematical tricks to add minor speed improvements to a brute-force algorithm, along with a discussion of why such tweaks to such a slow algorithm are irrelevant in the long run.
- Windows startup programs on a relatively fresh PC 2008
- A list of what I found running by default on my new Windows XP computer.
- Debugging CGI programs from the command line 2007
- How to set POST and GET form variables on a unix shell. Tilted towards C and C++ developers because I was debugging a C program at the time.
- Those funny floats..." 2005 - I'm going intsane 2005
- Float-to-integer conversion issues found when playing with PyGame, and more on rounding integers and the definition of an int.
- Tang's Browser Roundup 2002
- Review of all web browsers I could find as of 2002. Nothing earned a 5/5 rating back then. If I were to do it again today, I would give 5/5 ratings to Firefox, Opera, and Safari.
- How I Nearly Bought a Computer From Hewlett-Packard 2001
- Choices met and decisions made in determining to build my own white box system back in 2000.
- What I Want in an Operating System 2001 incomplete
- Incomplete and disorganized wishlist made shortly after I started using BeOS as my primary system.
- System modifications 2001
- A simple list of changes I would make to Windows and Unix systems back around 2001. I didn't keep it up to date because I stopped reinstalling new OSes and no longer needed it.
- Notes on FreeBSD 2002 incomplete
- Informal notes that I took while running FreeBSD as my primary system. If I ran across a problem that seemed familiar, I could grep through the text and find out what I did to fix it the last time it cropped up. Despite this file being horribly disorganized, I get hits for it every day from FreeBSD users in distress.

- An incompetent doctor treats the illnesses of Japanese anime characters.
- -==Wrong Commander==- 2008
- My contribution to the "You're doing it wrong!" meme is based on the 1990 PC game Wing Commander where Lt. Todd "Maniac" Marshall demonstrates doing everything wrong. Some of the lines and situations are stolen directly from the game.
- The Battle of Thermopylae 2007
- My version of the common joke that the movie "300" is gay porn.
- Don't be a Coulter Fool! 2006

- Making fun of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
- Shyomalian Capital Seized By Space Alien Army 2006
- A quick news parody I dashed off after seeing a headline about the Somalian capitol being taken by fundamentalist Islamic forces. You have to be a fan of M. Night Shyamalan's movies to get the references.

- Parodies of the new Star Wars movies.
- The Bible for Computer Geeks: Creation 2003 and bcdefg's Archive 2003
- Geek translations of well-known parts of the Bible. If you like this sort of thing, someone else has transcribed IRC versions of several Bible chapters (not mine, but deserving of a plug) and someone else made Lego versions (same cavaeat).
- Song parodies 1997-whenever
- New lyrics for others' music, including geek filk and Weird Al style food songs.
- Rude Pokemon 2007 incomplete
- A short and crude Pokemon parody. I got the idea around 1997 and never got around to writing it down until ten years later.
- Harry Potter and the Jihad to Destroy Barney 2005 incomplete
- A parody of both universes written for April Fool's Day. It never got a proper ending but the rest of it is complete.
- Celebrity Deathmatch Fanfic 1999 incomplete
- An unfinished fanfic episode that I wrote back when America Online bought Netscape. Linus Torvalds and Richard Stallman are worried about the power that the combined company would have over the Internet, and challenge AOL and Netscape CEOs Steve Case and Marc Andreeson to a fight to the death on pay-per-view!
- Slackers 1998 incomplete
- This is a half-finished parody of the Sliders television show about people exploring other dimensions. In this version the students are total slackers, the bystander who got sucked into the experiment is a flamboyant pimp, and the stuffy, genteel professor is unchanged. I was later informed that something quite similar to my parody plotline was used as a real plotline in one of the later seasons' episodes. I had stopped watching after they killed off the professor.
