The site explains how the SRTL works, and what it is.

It is professional and to the point with tons of information!

I thought "what a cool idea". It's crowded and there's a lot of information though.
Lots of information available for finding tools
Big header, tells you exactly where you are and contact information well displayed.
Nice colors, a lot of information
Clear, easy to read and home town friendly
Looks somewhat like a newspaper, nice feel overall
Provides information in a clean, functional way
Basic site, with lots of wording
Where did you first click?
I clicked on gallery because I wanted to see pictures of tools. Then I clicked on Tool Lists. I really liked the drop down menu and the pictures of the tools. I was looking for a rock saw but didn't find it.
I went right to the tool lists button

Did you find the site easy to navigate?
Yes
yes
Yes
Yes
Yes
Very, laid out in logical fashion, navbar well-implemented.
The site was easy to navigate with the navigation. Would be nice on the List of All Tools page, if there was a picture of each tool, like on the other pages.
Very clear, clean easy navigation
Yes everything is pretty clear
Did the pages load quickly? Too slow? About average? quickly
average
Pages loaded quickly.
They loaded quickly.
First page seemed slow then fine later
Very quickly.
Pages loaded quickly
About average to quickly.
Everything loaded very quickly
Were you able to see if a specific tool existed in the library? yes I searched for weed whacker
Yes, although it would be nice to have a search feature, there are a couple ways to view tools available which is nice
Yes, there was a full list and a list by category if you don’t know what the name might be
4-Yeses
I couldn’t tell if the item was in stock or not. I saw it show a picture of the tool but it didn’t tell me anything about it. Namely is it available?
Yes, I found the tool list well-organized.
Were the pages interesting? Why or why not? I like the pages with tool pictures
Yes, I love building things so this is a great resource. There is a lot of information and I love that someone can volunteer to help.
Very interesting, right-to-the-point information provided. I was able to quickly find information about the tools and about the organization itself.
If you like pictures of tools. I liked the idea of the tool library as my husband is always buying tools for one application, so that made it interesteing for me
I’m not into tools.
Yes, especially if I were a mechanically-minded person. I liked that there were photos for a lot of the tools.
There is a lot of wording on the home page. A lot of people visit sites to be entertained, and they like to look at cool graphics. The gallery was nice though.
Not really interesting, but useful
Very informative & useful
What is your impression of the color scheme and images ? The images could be larger
The images were nice. Some of the images in the slideshow were thumbnail size.
The blue type is hard to read and the images are dark.
The volunteer and FAQ pages need some images in the left column
I went to the supporting memberships page, but the links to download the forms weren't active.
Neutral, somewhat masculine--perfect for a tool-themed site.
generally good, blue and red seemed a little bright
The images of the tools were all very good. And the gallery was also nice. There is a lot of gray on the site. I liked the Donate Now button. It is very Web 2.0, but the rest of the site is pretty basic.
I liked the overall colors, very simplistic in design (complicated to create I’m sure!)
I liked the simple two-color scheme, and I liked the gallery of images. They added to the friendly, accessible feel of the site, and were inviting.
Very nice, has a real industrial feel to it
What did you like best about the site? I like the tool list drop down menu and how it's organized
The pages with lots of tool pictures and the slide show
The happy tool barrowers in the gallery.
Straight forward and easy to use
I like how everything was easily accessible. I could easily find whatever information I needed
I liked the blocky navigation bar, simple banner and clear, up-front way it delivered information.
The gallery
I liked the consistent feel of the pages, and the informative nature of the site.
The sheer amount of tools is impressive, presented very well
What suggestions for improvement do you have?Make the type less crowded. Left align the tag line. Make the pictures larger.
The hover orange color doesn’t work in the color pallet.
The main tool list seems a little awkward, but I can’t think of any other way to do it and it is functional.. Maybe a table with columns would clean it up.
It tends to have a slightly "busy" feel, but I think that's just because there's so much information.
Maybe tone down the red and blue, fill all images
I would copy edit the information on the home page. There were some sentence fragments in the opening paragraph.
The only thing I would improve on is the gallery. All of the images are different sizes. It would be nice if they were a little more consistent
Even if the client only wants gray you can still spice up the site a bit with some gradients or things that move on the page to keep the visitor’s interest.
Some pages have just a blank space where the "Lending Guidelines" box is, having something there on each page would make them more uniform.
Were there any links that did not work, images that did not load, typos? Clamps - links on right didn't work (now I see there aren't any, but I thought they were links). The active link wasn't darkened on the nav tab for "tool lists" for some of the tool pages so you could tell where you were.
All of the links worked. Just the small images in the slide show could have been bigger.
Links worked and images loaded. I’m not good at proof reading.
None that I saw.
All the images and links seem to work fine. I did find a typo on the Volunteer page:”currently operated our of the home of it's founder”. Our = out
Some images were not available
Didn’t notice any.
The links worked, and the images loaded. Typo: on the volunteer page, under "storefront", the word "our" should be "out".
Not that I noticed
Did you find the how-to video links on the tool category pages? Yes
yes
Yes
Yes.
Clicking around.
Yes, but only after you told me about them - wouldn't have noticed otherwise.
I found the videos, but it would be nice to have a page off the navigation that listed all the related videos with a little screenshot graphic as a link as well. Like on the site that has the video, they also have a picture of the video.
Had to look again. Some of the buttons, although grey, were not obviously a clear llink. Maybe add a distinctive border.
I didn’t notice them until I read this question. It might help to change the name to “How-to Videos” instead of Related Videos
Yes, very clear
Were the how-to links helpful? Yes, that's a good idea
Yes, it’s nice to have more information when using tools
Very informative, never new these where out there.
Yes
Very
I did not look at them all but If I were looking to do one of the things in the videos yes..they would be helpful and are a very nice feature
No, I got side tracked by the other unrelated videos
liked the how to links to the videos.
Yes, it's a nice feature.
Could you find the form(s) to join the organization? Describe how you found this item. I clicked on supporting memberships and looked in the middle expecting it to be there. finally I found it on the top left column but I wouldn't have realized that was clickable.
Yes, I found it from the home page/become a member link
Again I didn’t notice the link until I read this question. It blends in a little too much with the main navigation
I looked on the home page, but once I clicked on the link, I was looking in the body of the page, and not the side bar.
On the home page it described the steps needed to join, which involve going to the Library itself and registering.
If you mean the Borrower documents, I first looked on Supporting Memberships, and then checked the homepage, where they were.
I went to the supporting memberships page, but the links to download the forms weren't active.
This took some time for me to find. If I wanted to join I thought I would go to Volunteer but found nothing. So I clicked on Supporting Memberships, and after a minute I found the Membership Form. The button for this could be a big graphic like the Donate Now button so it is easy to find. Would this be better as an online form instead of downloading and mailing?
How do you make a donation to this organization? You go to FAQ. But I wouldn't expect it there. It should go where you're talking about memberships too.
Click the donate button on the home page.
Click the Donate Now button on the home page.
Click on Supporting Memberships on the top navigation and download the form.
Found the donation button easily
Use the Donate Now button
Click the Donate Now button on the home page.
There's a very visible "Donate Now" button on the home page.
Click on the donate now link
