This is the original London cast recording which features Lea Salonga (Kim), Simon Bowman (Chris), Claire Moore (Ellen), Peter Polycarpou (John), Keith Burns (Thuy), and of course, Jonathan Pryce (Engineer). This recording was released in 1990, but has been so good that it prevented other recordings such as Broadway and Toronto. It has old lyrics, but it does feature the beautiful voice of Lea Salonga.
This recording has the whole backed with an international cast made up of members from Toronto, London, United States, and Australia productions of Miss Saigon and it's backed up with a full orchestra. The cast features: Joanna Ampil (Kim, London/Sydney), Kevin Gray (Engineer, Toronto/Los Angeles), Peter Cousens (Chris, Sydney), Hinton Battle (John, Broadway (1991 Tony Award Winner for Best Supporting Actor In A Musical (Miss Saigon)), Ruthie Henshall (Ellen, London), and Charles Azulay (Thuy, Toronto).
The recording is available in Australia, with release dates in US/UK in late September.
