Questions
Upon first visiting the site, what is your overall impression?
Very nice, very professional.

I liked the color scheme and simple design.

Nice color scheme, clear, not too busy, not too empty

Very well done. Lots of great pictures.

It was great. I liked the images rotation, the use of the paw print as a logo/banner.

Pretty impressed with the site. All the elements seem to really flow well together.

Very professional looking. The colors work well together. I also really liked the paw print down the left-hand side.

Where did you first click?
Hovered over navigation.

I did a logical progression of clicking on each of the top navigational tabs. The first after 'home' was 'services.'

Exclusion vs. Trapping

Animal Information. Great pictures.

What is the overall tone and feel of the site?
Very neutral but professional looking.

The tones were reflected well in the color, it had a pretty 'earthy' feel to it.

Simple, clean. A bit on the dull side.

It is great. Well done guys!!!

Helpful and informative

It feels informative and urgent.

Like I said above, professional.

What is your impression of the color scheme and images?
Great color scheme, a little plain but that brings out the professionalism.

The images were supplemental to the design rather than invasive, and they worked well with the rest of the content.

I liked the earth tones which are fitting for this website. I liked the images a lot, especially the ones with the “stop sign”

Color scheme is great. Images are awesome.

Good use of earth tones, felt very natural

The color scheme works well with the site and the Images all look very nice.

The earth tones work well for the site.

Were the colors strong and saturated or seem faded and in need of more contrast?
Maybe more contrast.

I think that the colors worked well with my configuration. I'm not sure about others, but it looked fine on mine.

Colors just perfect.

I thought the colors were appropriate. Not too much either way.

The colors feel strong and saturated.

The colors were subdued, but they still provide adequate contrast.

What is the site about?
Animal control

It's a site for an organization that offers services to discourage animals rather than trapping and killing them.

It’s about the humane removal of wild animals e.g. skunks in Sonoma county

Wild animals and how to deal with them.

Excluding wild animals from domestic environments in a humane way

It's about how you should not trap wild animals that may be coming into your home, and should instead look to an alternative method such as exclusion.

The wild life exclusion service. It provides information concerning their services as well as general information on the difference between trapping and exclusion and local wild animals they provide services for.

Did you find the site easy to navigate? If not, please explain what you found awkward.
Yes. [7 responses]

Did the images load quickly?
Yes. [7 responses]

Were the pages interesting? Why or why not?
The content worked fairly well with the site flow to keep my interest. I learned a bit of information about the process of animal removal and why it's better.

Yes. The pages were interesting because they had just the right amount of information (not too wordy)

Yes they are. There is a lot of information about how to deal with animals. Lots of great pictures.

They were interesting - good use of rotation of images ... not cookie cutter. Also spacing was excellent- not too tight.

They were interesting because it gave some nice information on both trapping and exclusion.

They were, the content itself was interesting to me. The adequate use of white-space between paragraphs and subsections made even the more content heavy pages seem not too overwhelming.

Could you find the Birthing Season Chart? Describe how you found the information.
Through the Self-Help page. [4 responses]

Could not find it. [3 responses]

What did you like best about the site?
The navigation, and using ID links to go to sections.

The simple design was great for setting the content into, and the content itself was interesting. Overall, I think they worked together to make something more interesting rather than having either one detract from the other.

I liked the images used in Animal Information (the ones that look like the stop sign). I liked the use of the table in the Services page

The pictures.

Simple navigation.

The information was nicely done.

The site is well organized and well laid out on the page.

Were there any links that did not work, images that did not load, typos?
No. [7 reponses]

Did you find any links not working? If so which link and on what page? What was the error message received?
No. [7 responses]

What suggestions for improvement do you have?
Possibly changing the background and paw color.

While I liked the simple design, there wasn't really optimization of horizontal space. It might just be my configuration, but there was a lot of space that could have been used to put more content in without the need for scrolling.

See my comment earlier about the contrast with the brown color. I think it would have looked better with a more “brick” color. Also, the “Animal Information” tab would work well as a drop down that listed all those animals in their own sub-menu. Centering the menu titles would be good too. The menu hover color is a bit dull.

Add a site map was the only thing that might enhance the site. That is a client level decision.

The text in the header image was slightly pixilated and might have worked better as HTML text instead of an image. This became particularly apparent as the page was resized (i.e. zoomed in on). I would also recommend a different colors for your h3's, as they are currently the same color as your links.
