Website Testing Results - Client

The NAMI clients, generally, were very complimentary, with the usual notes about small-scale content changes. They loved the color-scheme and design which was influenced by the existing logo. One concern (shared by other testers) is that the left-side calendar (180px wide) was too narrow. It has unchangeable default Google Calendar features, but we can at least add a link to the larger calendar page or remove it from some pages. All other concerns are either minor or can be fixed relatively easily.

Target Market: The target audience is broad and includes members of the community at large, clients, family members, and mental health advocates. NAMI Sonoma County seeks to attract a multi-cultural audience. Members of the County Board of Supervisors may view the site as they evaluate grant applications from NAMI Sonoma County. NAMI Sonoma County is a resource for the medical community so mental health professionals may also visit the site. Most visitors to the website will not be mobile phone users.
Testing Respondents: Four individuals at NAMI Sonoma County tested the site and submitted input.

What is the overall tone and feel of the site?
  • AWESOME!!
  • The tone is welcoming and warm. It does not feel clinical nor overwhelming.
  • The feel and tone is relaxed, family-oriented yet professional. colors are pleasant yellows and blues.
  • It is much more professional-looking than the previous site. It
looks more welcoming and is easier to access.
What was your first impression of the home page?
  • It looks great and is user-friendly!
  • I like the simplicity of it and how it was easy to find the purpose of the organization. The links are very clear as well.
  • Beautiful! Nice pictures and layout.
  • I thought that it looked much more interesting and the
pictures showed the lack of stigma our organization is trying to spread.
It is very straight-forward and easier on the eyes than it previously was.

What is your impression of the color scheme and images?
  • Great choices on color scheme.
  • The colors are cheerful and reflective of the traditional NAMI colors. The images of Sonoma County add a personalized touch and are reflective of our community.
  • Colors are very nice.
  • Overall, I liked it a lot. The images on the upper right hand
corner once you click each tab were each beautiful and eye-catching. The
color scheme felt appropriate because it matched the NAMI logo. I think it
looks better than the national NAMI page!
What is your favorite part of the site?
  • Everything! The fact that everything is easy to find.
  • My favorite part of the site is all the gold boxes on each page. My eyes are instantly directed to them for the most important information on the page.
  • The layout of the home page with the rotating pictures.
  • I like how there are links to applications, articles, brochures,
newsletters, etc. The slideshows will also add a nice touch once they are
    finished.
What is your least favorite part of the site?
  • Nothing
  • No answer
  • Join and Donate page is redundant and confusing
  • I think the Resource Guide should be its own section under
the Resources tab, so it's easier to find. Otherwise, I think the website
    is wonderful!
What did you think of the NAMI calendar? Was it easy to find?
  • Like the calendar and it's easy to find.
  • I liked how it is updated automatically and that it is accessible from several pages.
  • The one on the left-hand gold feature box is too scrunched (not enough space to full read). The one on the calendar page works nicely though.
  • the one on the home page was easy to find and easy to read but
some of the titles did not show completely. For example, it will say "Client Conn" instead of Client Connection and there is no arrow to scroll so you can read the entire title. The only way you can read the entire title is if you click More Details.

Do you have any other suggestions or input?
  • Very nice! Thank you for all your hard work!!!
  • All links to other sites and forms should open in new tabs instead of same window otherwise may not be able to navigate back to our website easily).
  • Maybe make the calendar bigger. Volunteer was spelled wrong
all three times under Other Volunteer Application Forms. I really liked
the testimonial section. It showed that people really appreciate our
    organization.
