Lake Pillsbury is located about 90 miles north of Santa Rosa in the Mendocino National Forest. It is on the South Fork Eel River. It is a beautiful lake with endless activities, from watersports to off-roading there's something for everyone to enjoy. The most appealing thing about Lake Pillsbury is that it's completely tucked away from the outside world. There are only two access points. On the north end there is a small gravel air strip and on the opposite end there is a dirt road. This 11 mile dirt road takes about an hour to drive. It's very dusty, extremely bumpy and for the most part it's only wide enough for one car. The dirt road is what keeps away many campers and for this reason the lake continues to be a very quiet and peaceful place.
