This is column 1, which has a background image that is 300px wide and is colored gold.
This is column 2, which is colored teal. It no longer has an assigned width, so that it can stretch and contract according to the user's browser window width. It has a left and right margin of 300px to accomodate the two fixed columns to the right and left of this column. There is also added content in this column to allow display of the right and left gifs which will cause the columns to have background color that flows down below the content.
This is column 3 which has a background image that is 300px wide and is colored lighter gold.
