Dreamweaver A Section 5410 homework week two, for Mark Foote

INTRODUCTION

Hi, I'm Mark Foote. I've been using Dreamweaver for a year now, but I have really only used it as an editor. I'm looking forward to learning more about how to use Dreamweaver to produce web pages and manage web sites.

When I'm not learning to use the web, I am finding ways to improve my communication about the fundamentals of the lotus posture. The difficulty most people have with the posture itself is compounded by the lack of information about what's involved, and I am looking to change the way people think about the posture.

ANECDOTE

• Successful: I was able to build my own web page, using instructions from the Idiot's Guide.
• Fun: I took PHP this last semester, and was able to add a blog to my web page
• Ridiculous: spent two hours wondering why an image in a header was tiling, before I realized that removing "repeat-x" does nothing because the default is "repeat-x, repeat-y"; have to add "no-repeat"!

ACHIEVEMENT

• learn to use dreamweaver to expedite web page construction
• learn to manage a web site with dreamweaver

DISCOVERY

(Question: how does choosing Create New HTML on the Welcome Screen differ from making a new HTML document by choosing File > New?)

Answer:  Create New HTML immediately opens a page with the basic doctype, html, title, body, and meta tags, while File>New offers a menu of template styles for the page as well.
