What I did this summer

This summer I filmed a documentary on Wisdom, a hip hop band from Sonoma County. They played at four major music festivals this summer which I went along to document. Tevia Jones

Known to his fans as Wisdom, Tevya Jones was born into a family of musicians and poets in Colorado in 1972. He was first exposed to hip hop culture at the Ernest Ingold Boys Club in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, after moving there with his mother at age 6.Ever since then he's been a rapper.

Thomas McCree-Drums

As a music producer,the musical director of his church, and an award-winning gospel and soul drummer, Thomas stay's busy. He produced several of his tracks featured featured on the latest Wisdom album,Growth and Elevation. Thomas has been drumming with the Wisdom Creation Band since it's inception in the summer of 2003 and is a core member of the group.

Luis Garcia-Bass

Son of former Santana singer Tito Garcia, Luis began showing potential on the bass at a young age. A core member of Wisdom, Luis first joined the group in summer of 2003...since then, his bass solo has become a popular set feature among many fans. A graduate of the Victor Wooten bas camp, Luis attentded via a full scholarship.

Matt Berkeley-Keyboards

Matt currently plays keyboards with Wisdom, Joe Bagale, Disappear Incompletely and others. Since joining the Bay Area music scene in 2002 he has toured with Wisdom, Will Bernard, Shimshai, the Speakers and Reorchestra, performing as a leader, side man, and guest with a variety of styles including funk, soul, hip hop, jazz, rock, folk, blues and Afro-Cuban.

D.J. Cocheze-Turntables

Named for a Chiricahua Apache Chief, Cocheze started spinning when he was 14 years old.Having opened acts for the Alcoholics and Blackalicious at a young age, Cocheze has recently toured extensively as KRS-ONE's D.J. Cocheze is now a recent addition to the Wisdom Creations Band family as well, bringing a crucial element of hip-hop culture to the foreground of the Wisdom sound.
